I will not make assumptions about your current nutrition habits and automatically tell you to eat less. In fact, the majority of people who join my program are told to eat more (and yes, they lose weight). I will provide you with a flexible, realistic way of eating that doesn't feel like a battle. I don't want you to feel deprived, hungry, or exhausted from your nutrition routine. If you are happy you are more likely to create long term habits.
How amazing it is that walking is enough to cause weight loss, and prevent or manage chronic diseases like type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some cancers? It has also been shown to protect against the develeopment of Alzheimer's disease and to improve symptoms of depression and anxiety. It has enough impact to prevent osteoperosis and it is restorative to discogenic back injuries. We will begin with a graduated walking program that starts will small, implementable bouts of walking. As you progress you can choose to request at home resistance training work. Plus, as a Registered Kinesiologist I can help you manage injuries through rehab programs.
If you don't do the work to address thought patterns that sabotage your behaviour, you will never have long term sucess. If you don't rework unhelpful thought patterns then you will return to your old behaviours once the novelty of the program/diet wears off, or as soon as your motivation and willpower are low. You have to become firmly rooted in your values to maintain change. In this program we will identify harmful thought patterns and then spend a few weeks reworking them. Eventually, the habits you are trying to implement will feel like less of a battle.
If you are not experiencing an adqeauate quantity and quality of sleep, it will be very difficult for you to acheive your health and fitness goals. In this program you will receive strategies to improve your sleep routine so that your body is ready to respond to the changes you are making.
